Once you're tuned into it, synchronicity can happy anytime, anywhere. When you know to look for it, it's amazing how it might show up in your life! Trust me... My own story of synchronicity Synchronicity happens to me a lot. One afternoon about five days ago, I was reflecting on my current work (and of my life, really) and what my next steps could be. A friend of mine said, "Treat god like a little dog." At first I was confused... almost aghast. What did she mean? Regardless of your spiritual beliefs, how could you treat god like a dog? Then she clarified. She explained that you have to be very specific when asking god for something. Don't leave it unclear. Be very direct, very precise. You say exactly what you are looking for and then ask god to go fetch. I pondered that idea for a while, and tucked it away in the back of my head. So later, I asked the universe to help me find some help with social media. I'm good at a lot of things, I can even help people grow their work with the tools I teach, I love my work helping people, but sales-y social media... that's just not my forte. It drains my energy and leaves me empty. But, everyone says 'you need to do Twitter - do social media'. So, I said 'OK universe, find me a good social media marketer' (I probably added a grumble about what is the purpose of Twitter as well, but that is another story). On a personal note, I also told the universe, "I want someone to go to the French café Café Masilia with me." Finding what you ask for Fast forward to yesterday... I was chatting with a potential client and they said they have connections with a company that specializes in social media marketing. They've helped businesses grow even larger, and this person thought it could be a good fit for me. Low and behold... there's the social media help I asked for. My potential client continued, saying "This group usually meets at this café called Café Masilia, down the street. You should meet them there next week to talk about your needs." Now, I don't have to tell you what just happened... both of my requests were answered in one single conversation. I am a former scientist and used to teach statistics, so I had to ask myself what were the odds of that happening... and I found I only had one answer. Since I was very specific with my request, the universe knew exactly how to answer. And that is how synchronicity works for me... The point of that story is synchronicity, meaningful coincidence and its appearance in real life - at home, in the office, as you walk down the street. This was not a senseless, simple coincidence. It is evidence of something bigger happening. When you work with synchronicity, amazing things happen. This story is just one example of how synchronicity works in my life. I told the universe (I think of it as the 'system') what I needed, and it fetched it for me. I think if we all learn how to consciously activate synchronicity (and it is a learn-able skill), our lives will become easier and it will revitalize our communities - maybe even improve the economy.
